We set off on an exciting journey from the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, at dawn, around 07:30, and return by 23:00. This route, although long, amazes with its exquisite attractiveness and exciting impressions. We will cross the Ararat Valley in the direction of Vayots Dzor, where the legend of Noah, revived at the foot of Mount Ararat, is in the air.
Our adventure begins with a magnificent panoramic view of the Khor Virap Monastery, symbolizing important historical moments and offering endless views of the majestic Ararat. Then we will go to Areni, in the heart of the Vayots Dzor wine region, where one of the oldest wineries in the world has existed for 6,000 years. Here we will immerse ourselves in the world of Armenian winemaking and discover the secrets of traditional winemaking by tasting outstanding local wines.
The next stop on our journey will be the medieval monastery of Noravank, created by the master of architecture Momik. This architectural masterpiece, majestically inscribed in a landscape surrounded by rocks, fascinates with its beauty and historical heritage.
Let’s continue our journey to one of the highest mountainous regions of Armenia, where the first stop will be the Shaki waterfall. This waterfall, 18 meters high, is not only a natural miracle, but also contains a legend about the beauties from the village of Gegharkunik, kidnapped by enemies for their leader.
Let’s continue our journey on the world’s longest cable car “Wings of Tatev”. From its height, impressive views of the Vorotan River gorge open up, and you can feel all the majesty and beauty of this unique corner of nature.
Having completed the journey, we will visit the Tatev monastery complex, which includes one of the most impressive architectural monuments of Armenia – the Tatev Monastery. This monastery, located on the edge of the Vorotan River canyon, surprises with its scale and majestic architecture.
