The Black Mountain Star Map is located on the Argitchi Plateau, on one of the western slopes of the Vardenis Range, at the foot of the Black Mountain. Its relative height is 2666 meters above sea level. According to experts, the star map is 5000 to 7000 years old and is associated with the ancient Armenian calendar and the origin of the zodiac.
Program of the day:
Morning:
The horseback riding tour starts from the Martuni-Yeghegnadzor road, not far from the yaylateg called Karavansara, at a relative altitude of 2100 meters.
Introducing the guests to the horses and explaining the rules of horse riding.
Taking buns for lunch, we begin the hike.
The path to the star map:
Travel along winding roads, through alpine meadows and diverse vegetation.
The climb to an altitude of 2666 meters takes about 1.5-2 hours.
Once we arrive at the place, a little lower the horses will be given a rest.
On the spot:
Everyone will be invited to the monument to tell its story to the guests.
After learning about the history of the star map, guests will be given the opportunity to walk around the area, take photos and admire the beauty of the area and the views.
Lunch:
Just below the monument, guests will be offered lunch from pre-prepared lunch boxes.
After lunch:
Start of descent on another road, return to the starting point of the journey.
The descent will take about 1 hour.
Evening:
Return to the Martuni-Yeghegnadzor highway.
End of the hike, rest and discussion of impressions.
