ARENI WINE FESTIVAL

Tarkmanchats Ton is a holiday of language, knowledge and culture. On this day, we remember the importance of translation in preserving and developing Armenian identity. Educational events dedicated to the importance of the native language are held in various educational institutions. The holiday reminds us how the great work of translators helps preserve the spiritual heritage of the people.

Tarkmanchats Ton, or Translator’s Day, is dedicated to the creator of the Armenian alphabet, Mesrop Mashtots, and his students, who played a key role in the development of Armenian writing. The holiday is celebrated in honor of those who translated the Bible and other important texts into Armenian, which became a major cultural event in the country’s history.

On this day, schools and universities hold lessons on the role of translators in the development of Armenian literature and culture. EREBUNI-YEREVAN FESTIVAL (YEREVAN CITY DAY)

Erebuni-Yerevan Festival is a day when the entire capital turns into one big stage. The holiday allows residents and guests of the capital to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of antiquity, learn about the life of ancient Armenians and celebrate the modern look of Yerevan. Thousands of people gather to celebrate this day, enjoying cultural events and vibrant open-air performances.

The Erebuni-Yerevan Festival is dedicated to the Foundation Day of the capital of Armenia, Yerevan, one of the oldest cities in the world, founded in 782 BC. The holiday was first celebrated in 1968 in honor of the 2750th anniversary of Yerevan, and since then this day has become an annual solemn event. Erebuni was an ancient fortress on the site of modern Yerevan, and every year the festival reminds residents and guests of the city of its rich historical past.

The celebration begins with a grand parade on the Republic Square, where dance and music groups perform, as well as shows dedicated to the culture of Yerevan.
